Herbal Medicine
I am a fully qualified medical herbalist and member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH), a self-regulating professional body for herbalists in the UK, established in 1864. Members are bound by a comprehensive code of ethics and practice and are actively engaged in programmes of continuing professional development.
My aim is to provide patients the means by which to address their health needs within an enlightened, caring and supportive environment through working compassionately and in partnership to achieve long-term benefits to health and wellness. I have a particular interest in traditional Greco-Roman medicine and the accessible restatement of this vitalistic approach for the present time.
During the summer months I work with The Medical Herbalists’, a group of herbalists providing emergency medical cover and herbal first aid at a number of UK festivals. I also teach adult education courses in practical herbal medicine in partnership with the Aldeburgh Library Foundation.
